The good news is that my book arrived exactly when they said it would. Yippee!
The bad news is that there is a page missing. Oh no!
Thought process (without the expletives):
"Hmmm. Problem. It took two weeks for ubyubooks to print the book and my assignment deadline is in one week…..
I’ll give them a call and see if they can get another one to me more quickly…..
Oh no I won’t. They don’t have a telephone number anywhere on their website. Not good.
The only way to contact them is by email. Right, well I’d better send an email straight away….”
Then this:
I'll crop in a little closer so that you read it:
Two BUSINESS days!!
Tune in again next week for the next exciting episode.
oh no!!
ReplyDeletewhen you say that a page is missing I assume that that means you have a picture and writing that don't correspond? damn!
I hope you have been really stroppy in your email and demanded that the replacement is here before the weekend! :)
Thats awful! Can't believe they don't even have a number you can phone!
ReplyDeleteThe first page just hasn't been printed which means that there is no introduction and the text for the first photo isn't there.
ReplyDeleteI've come across other web based companies that don't publish a telephone number. My guess is that they don't want the expense of a dedicated phone and the cost of manning it. They are probably also run by very computer literate entrepreneurs (the technical side of the website has been very slick) but these guys often don't have good face-to-face skills. Who knows.
I'll certainly check for a telephone number before I order anything from a new supplier in the future.
